Hello, welcome to your next video, mastermind allegiances. I’m Vaughan Liddicoat.

Did you know that Henry Ford defeated illiteracy, poverty, and ignorance because he created a mastermind alliance? What does that really mean? A mastermind alliance is you or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 of you that are in the spirit of harmony.

Now, what that means is that your ideas are on the same frequency. Because when we’re looking at creating a mastermind group, and you may have heard the term or this may be a fairly new term, but the idea of a mastermind group is that when one or two people come together who are of the same thinking or the same ideas or the same resonance that you create a third mind and you tap into universal or infinite intelligence, or God.

And what happens is these ideas come to you from almost nowhere and you’re like where did that come from? And you’ve never thought of it on your own. Mastermind alliances are quite literally responsible for most of the things that we have in our life, and they’re the reasons things evolve so fast.

Think about hubs like Silicon Valley, how they work. They’re nothing but groups of masterminds there trying to develop better ways of doing things, and they’re doing a good job of it. But we are nowhere near the level we can be.

In your own life, I want you to think about who are you connected to right now? What sort of environment do you have access to? And if you don’t have one, my challenge to you in this lesson is to go out and to create your own mastermind alliance.

If you don’t have one in your backyard, fantastic. Let me tell you, there’s people in the internet all around the world that think like you and will be engaged in ideas that you’re engaged in right now.

For example, I mastermind with people all over the world from Romania, Sweden, Germany, Canada, and the USA. And the reality is is that I may not have many people in my own town that I can do that with and I haven’t found everyone yet, I haven’t met all 400 thousand people here. But the point is is that I know I’ve attracted certain people into my life. And when I attracted them, I jumped on the opportunity to make sure I’d strike up a relationship with them.

So the first step in creating a good mastermind is that you don’t want to go out there and wait for people to invite you in. You should actually go out there and look for people to cultivate a relationship with.

When you’re looking for these people, the second step is to make sure that they are in harmony with your ideas and thoughts. Now, this doesn’t mean they have to be perfectly the same and it’s not about music interests and car interests and all those sorts of things. It’s about ideas. Do you get a good feeling from them? When you express your goals and your dreams, do they push you down or is there a slight bit of negativity or rejection? If there is, they’re the wrong sorts of people.

In the third part of this you’ve got to ask who would you want in your mastermind alliance. What’s it for? Because there has to be a primary reason. It can’t just be to discuss every strategy in the world. It should be specific to an outcome such as making money, it could be towards health, it could be a relationship thing, it could be business, and it could be work.

There’s got to be a specific reason you get together and remember, I’ll go through the rules in a minute of having a mastermind alliance and how you should operate it on a basic level. But the bottom line is that it needs to be towards a common purpose and everybody knows that they’re meeting for that purpose. That it’s not random and it’s not just a coffee chit chat.

Now, if we look at what think and grow rich says in Napoleon Hill’s famous business book, he says mastermind alliances create power and power is highly organized and intelligently directed specialized knowledge. You should not know how to achieve the goals you want to achieve. Now, because of that there are other people out there that do know how to achieve the goals you want to achieve. And with the right mastermind alliance they will guide you. They will instruct you on the actions you need to take.

And then it’s up to you to make sure you follow them to the letter and do them. If you don’t do them, it doesn’t matter who you talk to. You could have Richard Branson coach you, you could have anybody up in that league coach you and nothing will change in your life. You’ll just have cool bragging rights, but that’s about it.

The reality is, no one can do the work for you. However, sometimes you just need the right ideas. But when you get those ideas you need to act instantly. Napoleon Hill is right, it is the accumulation of the right specialized knowledge being intelligently directed towards a specific outcome.

There’s a difference between a mentor and a mastermind alliance. You see, a mastermind alliance is people of a like nature, of a similar… a similar thinking, similar ideas and structure in the way they want to approach life. A mentor is someone who’s sort of been through everything and you’re learning from them and applying the lessons, and a coach is very similar.

A mastermind alliance, people don’t necessarily know how to achieve your goal. They don’t necessarily know how to get there, but what happens is when you get together is you formulate ideas that seem so good that they make sense and you go, “I must do that,” and your intuition kicks in and you go, “That’s what I need to do.” That’s why the power of masterminding is so important. You’re not going to be able to see your problem the same way as they will. And, in fact, both of you will tap into something unknown because you connect that way.

Now, there’s five rules that I want you to use when you mastermind so you don’t waste time and you get the right people on board.

The first one is to cooperate and not compete.

Now, we’re not trying to rip each other’s ideas off, we’re not trying to pull each other down. We’re trying to cooperate. It’s not about you getting your idea fixed when you go into a mastermind. It’s about you fixing the other people’s. It’s about you contributing. Forget your own idea. Go in there with the spirit of cooperation. By acting this way, you actually open yourself up even further as a channel to get some great insights and ideas that would never have happened because you’ve blocked yourself because all you’re thinking about is you.

Number two, focus your time and meet frequently.

Now, whether it’s over Skype, whether it’s in a coffee shop, either way is fine. You can do this across the Atlantic. The fact is, masterminding doesn’t happen when you’re just standing next to someone. This can happen in your own mind lying in bed. Why? Because thought is universal. It goes through time and space, your thoughts.

So you can literally connect with people and get on the same frequency. That’s why sometimes when you think of someone, they call and you go, “Woah, how did that happen? I was just thinking of you.” They said, “Yeah, I know. I picked that up.” That’s because you connect through the law of vibration.

When you come together, make sure you focus your time and you don’t spend it wandering around discussing things that aren’t relevant to why you’re actually meeting up and what the fundamental purpose is.

The third is when you’re sitting together you each discuss your wins, your lessons, and your challenges for the week and you need to listen with an open heart.

That way when someone is describing what they’ve gone through, you can sit there and think, “How can I help this person?” You congratulate them on the win, think, “How can I help you in the challenges you’re having?” and the lessons or the failures. What didn’t work? Well, that was good. Make sure you don’t do it again so you don’t become stupid. You don’t want to keep making the same mistakes.

But that’s what it’s for. It’s not only supportive, but it helps you learn. But keep it to a maximum of, like, 5 minutes per person.

Number four, each person must work specifically on the other person’s challenge for the week or what they need to fix in their own business.

That way you can see if you’ve got a group of three or four of you or just two, how much progress you can actually make on anything. And with all of you contributing towards each other like that, you’ll move forward.

If anyone violates that and they don’t and they’re just trying to keep taking, you need to remove them from the group. It’s very important. And they need to know that up front. Just kick them out. It’s not a problem, it’s detrimental having one person that keeps breaking those basic rules because there’s a lot more rules in masterminding than this.

But the bottom line is that if somebody breaks the rules, they’re not in the spirit of cooperation. They’re not in the harmony with what the purpose is. They’re just trying to take. And if it keeps happening, that shows their nature. You don’t have time for them to fix their nature. You’ve just got to find someone else or keep it to a smaller group.

Number five, this is not a social event, although you should have a lot of fun doing this process.

But keep it restricted. No Facebook, no phones, no messages unless it’s applicable. And you’ve got to make sure that somebody is guiding this process through, so you move through the five minutes of, you know, wins, challenges, and lessons, and then you go through and how you’re going to help each other. Somebody is keeping track of that. Someone’s keeping track of the time so you don’t waste each other’s time. And someone’s keeping track of the frequency.

There needs to be a leader. Now, whether that’s shared or not is a whole different thing. That’s up to you. But there should be an outcome generated from each time you meet. And by working with this sort of group, you will build and grow together as a unit. And you may stay together for years. You don’t know. You might do this with people you’ve never met really before, you’ve had a couple of sessions, you go, “Wow.”

The bottom line is this, mastermind alliances are going to be so important because we’ve heard it before about the sum total of your friends is going to represent the results in your life. Now, if that’s true, the thing is you need to start cultivating the right friendships. Now, don’t give me the excuse you don’t have them in your town. I’m not talking about that. Some of my best friends in mastermind alliances, the majority of them are outside of my country, Australia. So… and I don’t use that as an excuse. In fact, I’m in partnerships with a lot of people too outside of Australia.

The world is connected. It’s more easy to get on board with people than ever before. You just need the ability to get up and make it happen and not sit there and wait for it to happen.
